Community Pedal Power

What we can see, and what you can

What you see

One location, chosen at random from the last 36 hours, shown as a circle about 500 m across — not a precise point. It changes a few times a day. Plus the tag's most recent battery reading and when we last heard from it.

We do not show you a history, a live position, or the time of the location we show you. That is deliberate: it makes this useless for following a person, which is the thing a hidden tracker is most likely to be misused for.

What we see

Community Pedal Power volunteers can see the full location history of every tag in the program. During the beta we keep it longer than usual and study it to make the system work better. You agree to this when you register — it is clause 2 and clause 7 of the terms.

If your bike is stolen

Tell us at stolen@communitypedalpower.org or from your tag page. We will help look, and we will share what we have with the police. Please do not go after a stolen bike yourself.

Your details

Name, email, phone, bike model, serial and photos. Photos are kept at full quality because that is what identifies a recovered bike; what the site shows you back is a resized copy with the camera's metadata stripped.

Stop at any time from your tag page and we delete your details.
